Small E.L.F Haul

Firstly I apologise for the bad quality of the photos, they captured fine but seemed to loose quality once I uploaded them to this post.

I quite enjoy buying from the ELF website, it's easy, convenient, reasonably priced and there is so much to choose from. There has never been anything I've bought from here that I've been really disappointed with. To be honest I don't have the highest expectation for some products due to the pricing but usually I'm fairly surprised. by the quality.

What I bought:
Fan Brush - £3.75 here
*Translucent High Definition Powder - £6.00 here
Baked Eyeshadow - Enchanted - £3.75 here
*Clear Eyebrow & Lash Mascara here
Eyebrow Kit - £3.75 here

* Ive used the High definition powder before which I mentioned in my Empties post here & also the Clear Eyebrow & lash mascara which I have used for a couple years, I've never used the lash mascara because I'm not quite sure why you would use it but I use the eyebrow gel almost every day.

Do you like to buy from ELF? Do you like the quality?
If you have anything you would recommend me to buy then let me know.

No.7 Cleansing Face Brush

No.7 Cleansing face brush - HERE

I've been looking for a good cleansing face brush for a few months and it seemed that every one I found would have cost an arm and a leg.. so expensive! I really enjoy using a lot of No.7 products and since this brush was not on the extremely expensive side I thought I would give it a whirl. This Brush retails at £24.95 but I had a £5 off voucher for No.7 so this product only cost me £19.95..hurray! It comes with 1 cleansing brush head and includes batteries. You can buy the cleansing brush heads separately for £8 but again I had a £5 off voucher so it only cost me £3.
It is recommended that you change the brush after 3-4 months but me personally I would change after 1 1/2-2 months due to using it on a regular basis. If you shop in boots frequently you will know that a lot of the time they will give you a voucher for No.7 products at the till when you're paying and honestly last year I use to throw them away with my receipts thinking I would never ever use them but my gosh I would have saved so much money using them.

How I use it: 2-3 times a week
I take my eye make up off using Nivea Visage cleansing wipes for sensitive skin
Dampen my face
I use my No 7 Foaming Cleanser concentrating on my forehead, cheeks and chin - avoiding your eyes and mouth at all costs.. it doesn't taste too good!
Then using my Cleansing face brush I will use the first of 2 speeds and gently massage the cleanser into my face for 1 minute and then using the second speed I will cleanse for 30 seconds.
I then wash away the cleanser using my face cloth and warm water in a patting motion.

Results - I feel this removes all the dirt and make up off my face leaving it feeling cleansed, smooth, clean and fresh.
It doesn't leave my face feeling dry or irritated, it unblocks my pores and doesn't leave my face looking shiny (which is something I really dislike).
What cleansing brushes have you used? Where they worth the money?

March Favourites

 Howdy Dudes &  Dudettes

Maybelline Define a lash mascara - HERE
I got this mascara a while ago but only the past couple of weeks I've really enjoyed using it. I know some people don't like plastic applicators but I really like them. This mascara lengthens your lashes without leaving clumps, very lightweight mascara so you don't feel as if you have a bunch of false lashes on but sill gives that long defined look.
Revlon Candy Apple Lip Butter - HERE
No.7 Stay Perfect Tranquil Rose - HERE
Both of these lipsticks have been in my bag with me wherever I'm going.
Beautiful colours, moisturizing & long lasting.
I just love love love them!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation 100 Ivory - HERE
Revlon Nearly Naked 120 Vanilla - HERE
I couldn't choose between both these foundations .
The Wake Me Up foundation does exactly what it says on the bottle, It gives you that lovely 'I'm awake' kind of shine, as if you've had that perfect nights sleep that you wished you actually had. Good coverage and long wear. Big thumbs up from Chloë.
The Nearly Naked Foundation is defiantly a spring/summer kind of foundation for those days when it's hot outside (if the UK ever gets past this darn phase of rain, snow and cold weather) and want some coverage but don't want anything heavy on your face. It has light coverage and blends well. I feel this foundation applies best for me either using my fingers or the Real Techniques expert face brush

TRESemmé No Frizz Argan Oil -
I have wrote a separate post about this product
CLICK HERE to see this post

Arm & Hammer Advance White Toothpaste and Max Booster -  HERE &   HERE
Since using this toothpaste and max booster I have seen an improvement in my teeth. Coffee, Tea & Fizzy drinks are all things I stopped drinking/cut down on for so long but I've noticed lately I'm drinking a lot more of these drinks which I know is really not good my teeth. But using this advance white toothpaste has helped with teeth staining from my bad caffeine drinking habit's.. Naughty Chloë!

Garnier Moisture Match Combination to Oily Skin - HERE
I must start off by saying the texture of this creme felt quite weird the first couple times using this but I quite like it now. I don't use this creme all over my face like a regular moisturizer I generally target the places on my face that are more oily than others like my forehead, around my nose and chin due to these being the places that I need the most mattifiying effect. So far in the short space of time this product has been out I am really enjoying it.

Impulse Loving Words Body Spray -  HERE
Oh my. I could sit and smell this sent all day. I'm not too sure how to describe this smell except it's florally goodness. I bought this some time last year and it got lost in the back of the cupboard and forgotten about but I'm so glad I came across it again. If you're in Boots or Superdrug you must smell this fragrance. Truly Delish!

Non Beauty Favourites -

Malteasters - These just had to be added as
a favourite this month. I've been stocking
up before they stop selling these after
Easter. Honestly, they're AMAZING!

Infinity Bracelet - HERE
Claddagh Bracelet (Irish traditional symbol meaning love, friendship
& loyalty) - HERE

TRESemmé Argan Oil

I feel like I've tried hundreds of hair styling products in my hair over the years  and I  never usually stick to something too long. I guess Curiosity over comes me when I see a new product that comes out that says it can do 'magical and wonderful' things to my hair that NO OTHER product can do. Me being Me of course I fall for this and think 'Oh great, a new toy to play with'. Buuuuut they never seem to live up to my expectation and although this Tresemmé Argan Oil isn't this greatest hair product I've come across it does do a pretty darn good job.

I have very long hair, approx 24 inches and even thought my hair is in pretty good condition due to the fact I've never dyed my hair..(unless you count the hair mascara's you used when you were a child.. if you're a 90's child you'll know what i'm talking about.. Tres Cool..! See what I did there ;))
My hair is naturally quite thin and breaks easily at the ends, my roots become greasy quite fast but the ends of my hair are dry and just seem to always be having a bad day..booo! It may also have something to do with the act I've been cutting my own hair for over a year now and I can't bring myself to go to a hairdressers. I know this may be weird but I've never been to a hair salon to get my hair cut so the thought of having to go in and ask for a specific cut just plainly scares me. My mother is a hairdresser and shes always cut & styled my hair since..forever. Obviously now I'm living in London and my family live in Ireland I can't just casually get my hair cut like I use to so I guess it's going to be Myself  and my mothers old OLD scissors for now. But until I get a proper hair cut from my mother again I think I'm going to stick with this Tresemmé Argan Oil, it leaves my ends feeling moisturized and nourished, it keeps frizz at bay and those annoying little flyaway's from flying away but the bonus about this oil is that it doesn't leave your hair feeling oiled or greasy like a lot of Oil products do.

Applying this product -

I apply my regular shampoo and conditioner in the shower
 Towel dry my hair
Brush my hair through using a comb
Apply a generous amount of the Argan oil to my hand
Rub together.. I do this step as it heats the oil in my hand
I distribute the oil in my hair mainly concentrating on the ends and frizz
Brush my hair throughly with a comb
I then use my heat protecting creams or sprays and style my hair as normal

Do you use oil in your hair? What products would you recommend?

No.7 freebies

Howdy dudes & dudettes.

Boots No.7 - CLICK HERE
A couple weeks ago I trotted on into boots like I do about 20 times a week (a tad bit of an exaggeration, only a tad though) and I purchased 2 products from No.7. I had never tried any of their cream blushes before and for a while I had been looking and testing this blush in the shade 'Romantic' (top left) but never purchased it for an unknown reason. But today was the lucky day I was finally going to buy it. The reason I was at the No.7 counter was for the lipsticks. Oooh the beautiful beautiful lipsticks. Honestly I really like the long wear of the lipsticks and the pigmentation is just perfect. I was intrigued by the shade 'Tranquil Rose' (top right) which I had seen the costumer service lady wearing and she recommended it to me the time i was in their before. This is my favourite lipstick of the moment, I just can't get enough! But the awesome deal with buying these 2 products was the free gift worth up to £26 pounds (bottom two photos), you don't get to pick and choose the products you receive in this lovely little salmon pink make up case but that was fine, I was thinking of purchasing the long length mascara in full size but I was so happy when I seen it was one of the free items. You also get a 10ml Intense Hypo-allergenic day dream which I have not used as of yet. A lovely maroon coloured eyeshadow and a deep red lipstick, apologies for not adding the names or numbers at the moment. Also an added bonus, there is no minimum spend, just buy 2 No.7 products and receive this free gift. If you're lucky enough at the checkout the cashier will also give you a No.7 voucher that could save you up to £5 on skincare products. I'm defiantly loving the promotions happening at the moment. Everybody loves a good deal!

Speaking about the skin care vouchers I recently purchased the Cleansing face brush saving me £5 and costing me approx £19. I'm going to use this for a bit longer but in the next couple of weeks I will write a review of how I'm getting on with the brush.

My travelling Toiletries and Make Up essentials

Howdy dudes and dudettes

I'm heading back home to Ireland tomorrow for a couple days to see The Script play on Friday night at the Point (the o2) so I thought I would share with you the things I take in my travel toiletries and make up bag. I will try and link most of the products below but for some items this may not be possible. Once I started taking these pictures (which I apologize for the quality, the lighting was awful) I realized I use a lot of products. I travel back and forth to Ireland every so often so I should be use to packing by now.. well you would think so, right? No. I am so hopeless with packing and I'm not quite sure as to why. Possibly because I love to keep things neat and organised in my bedroom and when having to travel and pack it means messing up that organisation and cleanliness and having to shove everything in small compact travel bags. I won't go into detail about what everything is but do be sure to check out the links beside the product names.

For many years now I have carried a mini first aid  kit with me most places I go, some items change depending on where I am travelling but these are the essentials of the kit. Maybe I'm just a worrier but I know I'll be somewhat okay especially with this bag of tricks.

Rimmel Kate Moss 107 was my favourite for Winter and I'm still loving it! But recently I have bought the No.7 Tranquil Rose lipstick and I love love LOVE it! It's one of those lipsticks that whenever I open my cupboard and see it displayed in my lipstick container I always have to take it out and put it on even if I'm not going out anywhere or if it's just before I'm getting into bed, it's a bit of a waste I know but I just think it's such a beautiful colour!

Do you know what I just realised..? I use quite a good few products. You never really think about it until you start writing a post on it. Most of these products I have mentioned are some of my favourites and although I have never used the Clarins travel size toiletries, which I was given at a hotel convention, I am looking forward to trying them out.

Do you use any of these products I've mentioned? Have you used any clarins products before? If so do let me know, I'd love to hear.

Excuses & Empties

Howdy dudes & dudettes

I've been away from the 'ole blog machine for a few weeks and while I do have excuses I'm not going to bore you to death with them all, but I will share one excuse.. My parents came over to visit me last weekend in London for a couple of days, a LOT of laughs were had (to the point where I was crying in an Italian restaurant because I found something so funny and when myself and my mother visited the Tate Modern Museum and I had to bury my head in my mothers coat to stop my laughter from echoing all over the very VERY silent museum), we had some lovely meals and just a really nice time spent.

Annnd onto the reviews..

 Empties

Garnier Pure Active - 24 hour spot fighting moisturizer

I love almost everything Garnier, it just suits my skin so perfectly and all of the products I've tried seem to do my skin some sort of good. As a person who has fought with acne/spots for so many years I'm always up for trying something that says it can fight them or at-least keep them at bay and that's what the Garnier 24 hour spot fighting moisturizer did for me, although it didn't clear the spots completely, I did notice a big change in my skin, it felt more hydrated, healthier looking and the spots had faded. Big thumbs up from me!
TRESemmé - Heat Defence Spray

I've repurchased this spray on so many occasions, it does what it says on the bottle really, although I think I may be repurchasing this mostly for the smell and the travel size bottle considering its not a product I would simply rave about, I've found a lot more heat protecting sprays that do the same if not better for my hair. It is a good product but it didn't 'wooooow' me to the extent where I needed to run out the door in my bath towel to the nearest supermarket to buy one when I realised it was empty.
Nivea Visage - Light Moisturising day cream
I started using this product at the beginning of 2012 when my mother posted it over to me when I first moved to London (she was worried I wasn't moisturising) and for a couple months I used this and found it to be quite a good cream but once I found the Garnier 24 hour spot fighting moisturizer I threw this little tube into the back of the cupboard but I have recently discovered my little friend again. Just looking at the box and the tube it doesn't look very exciting or appealing but my gosh it works wonders, my face has cleared up a huge amount, it feels so smooth and it's like it's had a nice drink..yuuum hydrated face! Another Thumbs up from me! P.s I've already repurchased this.

Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder - 001

As you can tell from the pictures above I depleted the container until it's last little bit, great powder, keeps my face shine free while not making it feel over powered and dry like I feel some powders do. Huge plus is  that it doesn't flake on my skin.. woo hoo!
Rimmel Match Perfection  - 001 Light
Again with this blush, it's existence in the top left picture is almost invisible  Once you swirl your brush in and around this blush it gives a great glowy shine to your face, as you can tell I have already hit pan on the repurchased blush. Although the past couple days I've been really liking just using the peach colour on it's
own, it gives that nice little sun-kissed 'I look really fresh' look.

Batiste Original Dry Shampoo
Sudocrem
These 2 items are probably my babies, once I'm running low I feel the need to go running to the shops in a panic to buy some more, I think I have some sort of a fear that they will discontinue these products.. even just typing that gave me the shivers. I think everyone has those products that they have used for so long that they just become apart of them. I know a lot of people use all the different types of Batiste Dry Shampoo  but for me I've always gone back to the Original scent/type, it likes my hair and does the trick, I have really dark brown hair and for some people white dry shampoos tend to leave a dandruff looking layer on their hair when they use this but maybe I'm just the lucky one because it doesn't happen to me.

Sudocrem - The answer to all life's problems. No matter how big or small it is if someone has hurt themselves, have a spot, their arm is itchy, anything. I will always suggest they use Sudocrem. I'm one of these people you probably don't want to meet if i'm having a 'bad skin day' because all you will meet is a white spotted sudocrem covered face.. not the best look! But none the less it's works like a dream.

ELF - High Definition Powder

I really enjoyed using the High Definition Powder, when I first seen it on ELF I was a bit skeptical on weather it would be of any use to me or not buuuuut I was proved quite wrong. It gives that 'perfect photo finish' kind of look. I haven't jumped to buy this product again mainly because I haven't had any need to buy anything else from the website. The only downside is that it comes with a soft sponge applicator which I had lost and it meant I had to be super careful opening the pot because the product would just go everywhere.. booo! Other than that I will be sure to add this to the basket on my next order.

Soap & Glory - Hand food

This is one of those things I always have in my handbag or just lying around in the cupboard , although this one may be empty I'll be sure to find half full or even full tubes floating around my bedroom or handbags. It smells great, looks cute and moisturises my hands, what more could you really want from a hand cream? Superrrrb!

Do you use any of these products? Do you have the same views as I do towards them?
Let me know in the comments.

My Week In Pictures

Howdy :)

Here are some of the things I got up to during the week, I might make this a weekly post but I'm not too sure yet. Unless I'm doing something remotely interesting I don't think I should write about it and bore you guys to sleep.
Enjoy xo

Saturday & Sunday - I love love love taking pictures when it's
snowing, everything looks 10 times more beautiful than before.
Monday - My Instagram photos arrived. I absolutely LOVE how they turned out, I'll be doing a post once I've decided how I'm going to display these pictures but first I have to go order some more from Printstagram. Firstly this website is SO easy to use which is a bonus so there's no messing around trying to figure out how to upload pictures etc.  I choose the 4 x 4 inch Squares. With this option you get 24 images for $12 (approx  £7.50) well worth it! I also received my images about 5 days after I ordered them.  If you would like to check out their website Click: HERE
Tuesday - I went to the auditions for Britain's got talent. IT WAS BRILLIANT!  Things I learned - Simon Cowell  actually smiles a lot - I know, shocking! Those buzzers are probably the loudest things I have ever heard, I jumped every single time without fail and Pole dancing is actually an art, the girl that auditioned was amazing and it was so beautiful to watch, it definitely changed my perception on pole dancing! I also seen a Boyband who I think we need to all watch out for, I have a feeling they'll go far, we were also asked not to post the acts names, Sorry.
Wednesday - Me and My Bestfriend Alannah had a conversation with each other on twitter using pictures while I was in work and she getting ready to head to work. You can follow me on twitter HERE, I'll follow back :)
Friday - I went for a nice walk and done some boring things that people tend to do when they they are 'adults' like heading to the bank and food shopping (although I do love grocery shopping a lot).

My eyes - Click the links for more details
Naked Palette 2 - Half Baked
 Maybelline Gel Eyeliner
Maybelline Falsies Mascara

Accessories - Click the links for more details
Satchel - On sale Winter 2012
Glasses Necklace - Claires Accessories
Ring & Earrings - Mentioned in an older Blog post

What I'm wearing -
Beige ankle boots are from Primark last Summer/Autumn, so comfy.
My studded leggings I have owned for 3-4 years I think I bought them
in Heatons which as far as I'm aware is an Irish shop.

That has been my week in pictures, if you like this type of post them maybe I'll do them on a week that I think may be eventful and write a post about it.
What did you get up to the past week? Let me know :)

Saturday, 12 January 2013

Hi my name is Chloё and I have a shopping problem.

Hola Amigos

Basically the past fedays I've been a tad bit bad at convincing my myself that I don't need to buy something just because it's pretty or on sale. I ventured to a lot of different places and bought some things that I probably could have lived without. Some places included Homebase, Ikea, Boots & Republic.

I walk past Homebase when I walk home from work and I noticed they had a 50% sale so of course I had to go check it out. The top picture I made myself. I got the picture in the middle from homebase for half price at £8.99 and also the love heart metal sign which has 'Love' written in lots of different languages, also half price, not 100% sure but I think it was £6.99 :) I also picked up a few morthings from there but nothing super interesting like a touch lamp and a cup.

I ventured to Topshop, I do apologise for the bad quality of the picture above I just could not get a decent photo of the dress. I use to wear dresses constantly last year and the year before but then just went out of that phase, i'm slowly coming back into it and I found this lovely deep purple sleeveless skater dress (£20.00) today and fell in love, I think that pairing this dress with black tights and brown ankle boots would be lovely but i'm not too sure if a belt should be added, help?

An example of the 'things I could have lived without' would have been this. I thought it would be a super idea to head to Ikea yesterday, my only reason for going was to pick up some vanilla candles and for something to eat.. I have a bit of an obsession with their mac & cheese! Buuut I ended up coming out with some other things also. One of those being the bed side dresser above, it was on sale for £20.00 and I felt like this beautiful piece of furniture needed to be in my life, might I add that I had to get this (in a big box) and other items I bought back on 3 buses on my own. I also picked up some storage boxes and a duvet set.

Next up was Boots, not even kidding guys if I could I would live in Boots very happily.
I was running out of my Aussie products so had to repurchase the 'Luscious long' shampoo but instead of my usual conditioner this time I decided to buy the three minute miracle conditioner frizz remedy because my hair has been feeling a bit naughty lately and likes to have it's own mind and make me look like I've been in gale force winds or electrocuted.. either way it ain't a good look for me, and considering it's 3 for £10 I also picked up the Anti frizz hair serum which I have never tried before so we'll see how I get on with that :)
Maybelline falsies mascara (£6.99), yes I am pretty aware I'm quite late jumping onto this bandwaggon but hey better late than never, I guess I just never tried this mascara (even with everyone raving about it) because I use to be obsessed with  the brand Essence, I think it's an Irish brand but I think because I was mostly glued to their products I felt I didn't need to try out many others, I'm quite looking forward to giving this mascara a go considering all the reviews I've seen of this product.

went a bit accessory mad today in Republic but I couldn't help myself it was all half price, The top picture (pleasexcuse my nail polish) is a beautiful gold stud half finger ring for £3.
The three rings all came together, silver, black & rose gold also reduced to
£3.
No
w i'm not really a wearer of earrings and I could hon
estly not tell you the last time I wore a pair but I just thought theswere too pretty to pass by, One set was marked at £2.50 and the other at £3 I just don't remember which ones..Sorry :/

Aaaaaand there we have it.. a bit of insight into the addiction that I, Chloё seem to have.. I'm pretty sure my bank account does not appreciate it.. Does anyone else have this problem? Let me know?
