My Daily Essentials

I like to be nosey and see what everyone else is using as their everyday essentials, so I though I would share my items with you.

Colgate Max White One Luminous - The reason I bought this toothpaste is because it came with a free Nails Inc nail polish... yes Chloë that's a perfectly good reason to buy toothpaste... I change toothpaste a lot but this one is doing the job for now.

Superdrug Face cloth - Nothing too special, Just a basic face cloth. I could start selling them I have so many. I buy mine from Superdrug for 99p.

Oral B Professional Care 600 Purple - If you haven't invested in an electric toothbrush already then now is the time. This is the first proper electric toothbrush I have owned. I bought it at Superdrug at a reduced price of £25 as it was a limited edition. But you can also buy it from Amazon for a more expensive price.

Nivea Light Moisturizing day cream - I've been using this moisturizer for such a long time. I like that it has SPF 15 and its a very light cream which sinks into the skin easily.

Nivea Stress Protect Cream Deodorant - I prefer to use roll on or cream deodorant's rather than spray. These Nivea ones are great for locking in moisture and quick drying.

Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash - I've tried many mouthwashes but I prefer this one because it doesn't burn your mouth or have a very strong taste but it still protects your teeth and gums.

Neutrogena Visibly Clean Face Wash - This is a relatively new buy, but I can already say it's becoming a staple in my daily essentials. Wet your face, massage the gel all over your face (using the very convenient pump), leave it for 1-2 minutes and wash off. It leaves your face feeling fresh and cleansed.

Leave a comment with the daily products you use or if you have done a post similar to this, leave a link. I would love to see it

January 2014 Favourites

I bought some new products recently and also re-discovered some oldies too.
They add up to my January 2014 favourites.

A new product for this month is the LOreal Paris Miss Manga Mascara. Now £8.99 at Boots but I bought it at the introductory price of £5.99.
It gives great volume to your lashes without clumping. Using it on your top and bottom lashes make your eyes look more open and awake. The 360 degree brush makes the application easier to do as the flexible brush lets you get into those little areas to catch all the hairs.

I bought this lovely blush from Inglot in Shade 46 at IMATS London 2013. I use this blush a lot and I've barely made a mark in it. It's very pigmented so I advise using it sparingly.

This Rimmel Stay Blushed in Sunkissed Cherry is the blush I use on work days, as blotting some on your cheeks and rubbing in without having to use a brush is good enough for me when I'm in a hurry.
It wears very well, good pigment and easy to blend.

This LOreal Super Liner Ultra Precision is a new buy for January. The very thin, soft tip is so easy to work with. You can make a really small line to a thick wing with this flexible tip. Long wearing and a really black line. I can't fault it.
I'm not a big fan of wearing shiny lip-glosses. I'm more of a matte lipstick/lipgloss kind of girl, but there was something about this Infinite Shine Gloss that I really liked and needed to buy. It has such a smooth application, not sticky at all, it smells good and the peachy tone is one of my favourites.
When living at home in Ireland I use to buy many products from the Catrice line, but since living in the UK I haven't found anywhere that sells it. If anyone knows where I can buy their products, please let me know.

The reason for this being in my favourites for this month is (the same reason as the Rimmel blush) it applies easily without having to use a brush which is convenient for when you're in a rush on work days. It isn't one of my all time favourite foundations although it is very lightweight on my face and does keep it matte. It just doesn't give me that 'oomph' feeling.

I bought this Elf Mineral Eye Brightener quite some time ago. I generally feel the need to use this product on days my eyes are feeling dull or tired. This month has had both of those things. Dabbing a piece of the powder in the tear duct inner corner area of your eye will make your eyes immediately pop and look more awake.
Side tip: My eyes have been a bit sore lately, which resulted in me rubbing them to the point where they were red. Using white pencil eyeliner on the lower waterline is a great trick to make your eyes look more white and brighter to help disguise the blood shot eyes.

Although I don't have oily skin all over my face I do suffer from a bit on my chin and forehead which is why I chose this Garnier Moisture Match Cream in Shine Be Gone. I love the feeling of this cream on my face. It has a whipped moose texture and leaves your face feeling refreshed and matted.

I've used A LOT of different Argan Oil's in the past, from TRESemme to Moroccan Oil, and as much as I love all of them, I'm still on the search for an Argan oil to which I stick to. This Argania Argan Oil smells great, does great to my hair, leaves it feeling soft and smelling nice. It's my favourite of all my oils right now.

Do you have anything you used in January that you'd recommend?
Leave a comment and let know.

New Year, Same Me.

Hello my lovely's.

2014 has well and truly begun and I decided, for the first time ever, I will make some resolutions for myself. Now, I'm not talking anything crazy or unrealistic because honestly, that's never going to work. I've set myself a few things to get in the habit of doing and then this time next year I can come back to this post and see how well I succeeded. So lets get these resolutions started.

  1. Pay more attention to my blog and write more posts.
  2. Exercise more and go to the gym regularly. Even if that means going for a small walk or a cycle.
  3. Eat healthier. Not cutting all pretty food (sweets) out but minimizing the amount I eat of them.
  4. Drink more water, I used to be super good and I've fallen off the bandwagon lately.
  5. Be more positive. I'm generally am but just giving myself a reminder.
  6. Find a job. I have recently given in my leave notice to work so this year it's all about finding myself a job in which I truly love waking up to and enjoy.
  7. Not spending money on things I don't need. - This one in particular is already proving very difficult for me. I love shopping and buying random little things I probably don't need but I'm going to do my best not to purchase really unnecessary things.
  8. Use up shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, creams etc before purchasing more.
  9. Travel more, go on random adventures, be spontaneous.
  10. Be more creative. I love making scrapbooks and cards for friends and family and I would like to start making gifts for them also.
There we have it. 10 things I would like to do more of or less of in 2014.
Let me know in the comments some of the things you have planned for this year.

My Travelling Tips

Halo Dudes & Dudettes. - Long time no blogging!

I recently returned from a lovely trip visiting family and friends in Brisbane, Australia. Whilst I was packing, on route and while I was there I came to think of some useful travel tips that I used and proved to be quite helpful to me.
At the beginning of the year I wrote a blog post about my Travel Toiletries & Make Up  essentials which sometimes I look to when travelling to make sure I have all the important things with me.
I hope this post is as useful to me in my future travels and also helps you.
...Of course I must first share some pictures from my adventure :)

 In no particular order..
    • Vacuum pack bags. I saved so much space in my suitcase but do rememeber not to over pack and be wary of the weight limit. click here
    • Use shower caps to individually and neatly hold your shoes. This will prevent the shoes from dirtying your clothes. click here
    • Even if you're bringing your toiletries in your main suitcase I still suggest bringing travel size bottles. Bringing full size products may be a waste of space depending on how long you are travelling for.You will most likely use all the product in a travel size bottle during your holiday/trip meaning you can chuck it out/recycle, making more space in your suitcase to bring holiday purchases back ;)
    • While travelling my wisdom teeth were coming through which was very painful. Having a first aid kit with all the essentials meant I had Bonjela and pain killers at my fingertips.
    • If you're a nail polish junky like I am then trying to decide what polish to take on holiday can be a bit tricky. It can also take up a lot of space in your cosmetic bag. Getting gel nail polish before you leave is a great alternative to carrying nail polish, base coat and top coat as it can last up to 4 weeks. This is what I use. So simply and easy to use. click here
    • Using Sun protection lip balm is really important if you're heading somewhere hot. This is my preferred lip balm click here
    • If you're travelling a long distance then plan out your sleeping pattern. This may prevent you from getting jet lag.
    • No need to panic if you have no space for towels or bikini's in your suitcase. If you're heading for a sun holiday you're bound to pick up something very cheap when you arrive at your destination.
    • I use an eyemask for sleeping every night but using one while travelling is a life saver. There is nothing more annoying than trying to sleep on a long flight and the person next to you has their reading light on.
    • If you're an anxious person or not too good at travelling/flying then I suggest Bach rescue remedy chewy sweets. They taste nice and very convenient to throw a packet into your handbag. click here

Living in London means for me I travel back home to Ireland a lot so if you have any tips that you find helpful feel free to leave them in the comments my amigos.

    Cath Kidston - Mini Haul

    Hello Lovely.
Late last week I had a cheeky little look on the Cath Kidston website, with no intention of buying anything, just have a sneaky scoop, but when does that ever happen - going onto a pretty website with all their pretty little items and pretty colours and not buying something? It's quite rare for me anyway.
I decided I wouldn't let myself look at the fashion or bag section of the site due to these being my serious weaknesses and potentially costing my purse a lot of monies. Bold Chloë.
So I limited myself to looking at the accessories and sale section.
These are the great finds that I bought.
    Oooh so pretty

Little Rose Pocket Purse £4.50 - I've attached this little coin purse to my keys and threw some change in for those emergencies situations or if I need to top up my Oyster Card (Underground tube/Bus Pass)
Polka Dot Case On-sale from £8 to £4 - I have a slight habit of throwing my phone into my bag along with everything else which is not great for the phone or the screen so I thought this cute case would be great at protecting my phone from unwanted scratches and cracks
Flower Key Ring  On-sale from £4 to £3 - I may have a tad obsession with floral print and even though I didn't need anymore key rings to add to my growing collection, soon I won't be able to find my keys, This was my calling my name so basically I had to buy it.

What websites do you get glued to? Which ones makes you go oooooooh?

    Nica Handbag - Alicia Acrossbody

If there is one thing that I, Chloë have a weakness for, it's most certainly handbags, I go on the Nica website to 'ooooh' and 'aaaahh' all over the bags all day.
I think I have about 8 to my collection at this moment in time and each and everyone one of them are very much loved by yours truly.
Nica bags can be a bit on the expensive side, although when they have a sale or items are in the outlet you can always find a great deal with bags being 50% off. Which is where I came across this beautiful Coral Alicia Acrossbody reduced from £29 to £15, if I could, I would have my whole life in Coral colours, especially for the summer time creeping up it's nice to have something with a nice pop of colour.
You can buy Nica bags from a lot of different places but here are some of the places where I find mine.

P.s apologies in advance if you get hooked on these bags.. they're addictive ;)

20 Tips For Selling At A Car Boot Sale

I thought that considering I really like going to car boot sales and I've also sold my items at them before I would give you some tips if you're thinking of selling at one.
I'm no expert at this subject but I can give my experience and things that I found helpful to know or have learned since going.

    Tips I have found helpful:
    Not in any particularly order
    1.  Organize everything the night before so you're not rushing around early the next morning
    2. Have an early night. Car boot sales will usually open very early, in my case I was at the gates Queuing at 6.20am which is why Tip. 1 is very useful.
    3. Have a a mixture of coins and notes - I have noticed that a lot of buyers will have £20 notes and want to purchase something for £3 so having a mixture of each is good.
    4. Pack a lunch - If you're going alone then you will most likely not be able to leave your car/area during the day to get a snack so pack a sandwich and water to keep you going.
    5. Wrap up! If you're in Ireland or the UK remember to bring your hat and scarf along. I know it's almost summer time but especially very early in the mornings it can be quite cold and standing outside all day can get a bit chilly.
    6. Bring a small handbag with you and do not bring valuables in your bag. Use this bag mainly for your coins and notes - If it's possible put this bag under your jacket for extra security
    7. Bring little containers or boxes to separate items into different categories  ie. jewelry, make up, nail polish. This makes it easier for a buyer to see what items you have for sale.
    8. If you're selling clothes, bring hangers, you might not always have an area to hang your clothes, you may just have to fold them, but having hangers again is a great way for buyers to see your clothes and it makes it more visible and appealing.
    9. Bring plastic bags - This may be an obvious one but the first time I sold at a car boot sale I forgot to bring plastic bags and I had nothing to put the items for the buyers in..Oops!
    10. If you want to be super organised you can also pick up little zip lock bags in different sizes at the pound shop, the usually come in packs of 36, this is a great alternative to plastic bags if you're selling small items like rings, necklaces, or small items that do not need the use of a big plastic bag.
    11. If you're not taking a car and plan on using any available space in the area i.e the ground, I suggest bring an old sheet or a rug to down first.
    12. If your boot sale is outside I suggest you bring an umbrella due to the tendency of the UK weather to rain. If you have any expensive items then bring a water proof sheet to throw over your items if it starts to rain suddenly minimizing damage and value of your item.
    13. You don't need to settle on the first price that someone offers you. Believe me they will try to haggle with you as much as they can. If you do not think your item is worth less than a certain price do not feel the need to sell for less just because somebody may be nagging you.
    14. If you're selling an item with the original price tag make the tag clearly visible to buyers.
    15. Some people may not like to ask the price of something so make sure to be upfront and go over and start a conversation about the price and brand to make them even more interested in the item.
    16. Mark a price of an item a bit higher than you actually expect to receive, ie. If you want to sell a coat and don't mind receiving £5 then offer the coat for £8, it's great if they take it for this price but for the majority of people they will try get the price down. Never expect to ask for a certain price and receive it for that price.
    17. If you have never sold at a car boot sale before I suggest you visit one beforehand to scoop out what prices everyone else are selling their items for.
    18. If a buyer is looking for a specific item and you don't have it on display but you remember you have something similar at home, then be sure to let them know that you will be at the car boot sale the following week, or swap numbers and something can be arranged.
    19. Make friends with other sellers in the line, this means if you're on your own you can nip off to the toilet and have them keep an eye on your space.
    20. Don't feel like if you haven't sold as much as you had hoped that it was a fail, you always have the following weekend to sell again and different people with different tastes will always be there. ie. I have a brand new dress from Pull & Bear with tags and just because I didn't sell it one week doesn't mean the right person won't be there the following time.
And that Dudes & Dudettes are the things I've learned/found helpful for selling at car boot sales.
I hope they've helped you also.
If you have any more do please let me know in the comments, I'm still learning and would love to know more tips.

    Clothing And Drugstore Haul

As I'm sure many people know, I have slight addiction to Soap & Glory and Aussie products, I just can't seem to get enough. I trotted on into Boots & Superdrug, not needing to buy anything, and came out with these lovely little goodies.

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed - Deep Pore Detox Mask - here
Around 2 years ago I bought this face mask, I really enjoyed using it and the results it gave, I then completely forgot about it and found it again when I was moving to the UK. I used up the last of the tube and I thought it was about time I repurchased this mask. I will give a complete review once I've refreshed my mind of the wonders of this detoxifying mask.
Soap & Glory Foam Call - Bath and Shower washhere
These body washes are also not something new to me, I've used 'Clean on me' for so long and I thought it was about time I gave a different shower cream a chance. - Pepperminty goodness, It smells deeeelish!
Soap & Glory Dr Spot - Invisible spot fighting gel -here
I think I'm going to be buying Spot treatment gels/creams until I've bought every single one in the world, I just can't seem to find 'THE ONE'. So.. here I go with another product that claims it has 'magical powers to clear my skin of every blemish and leave it looking marvelous'.
    Aussie Mega Shampoohere
My first impression of this bottle was 'Bog standard shampoo' 'nothing too exciting' and my guesses were right. This shampoo is just your everyday basic cleaning hair shampoo, which at the moment I think my hair needs a rest from all these products and build up. My hair just needs a nice cleansing.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle - Luscious Long Deep Treatmenthere
I've just finished up my Luscious Long Shampoo by Aussie which I've loved using, Although I'd never seen this conditioner before and thought I might as well give it a whirl. I like the shampoo so much I hope this conditioner matches up!

For many months I've been eyeing up this Miss Selfridge Peplum Mac, at first I didn't want to spend so much money on a coat but after so long of thinking about it I caved in and spend the £65.00 and my gosh I'm so happy with it! - here
I trotted into Gilly Hicks.. my favouite place to buy underwear.. TMI?.. and although I didn't find any underwear I did find this beautiful turquoise polka dot shirt on-sale from £40 to £13.99! - here

I love seeing what other people have bought, a tad nosey? Yes! Let me know if you have done any hauls so I can check them out.

Taylor Swift Perfume & Free Gift

Boots have a great offer on at the moment.
Buy any Taylor Swift perfume and you receive this beautiful floral print tote bag FREE.
I've been eyeing her perfume up for a while and whenever i'm in boots i have a cheeky spray, but I just never purchased a bottle. That was until today when I seen this beautiful spring/summer bag was free when purchasing the perfume. I bought the 30ml perfume on sale for £13.33 (original price £20.00). Super deal!
The bag feels like great quality. No pockets on the inside but big enough to fit your kitchen sink..if you're into that sort of thing...I'm really happy with the bargain I got today.
If you're interested in this deal you better get to your local boots asap as I'm sure these bags will be snatched up quickly!

Making The Most Of The Sun

As people who live in the UK & Ireland will know, the weather is a bit unpredictable a lot of the time, 4 seasons in one day. This week has been super nice weather and although most days after work I'm too tired to do much, On Wednesday myself and my friend Debora decided to make the most of this lovely weather and  headed to Hyde Park for the day. Debora rented a Barclay's bike and I wore my Rollerblades. We had such a lovely day, relaxing and good vibes. Maybe this is the start of the summer weather! Here's to hoping :)

    My Most Used Nail Products

    From back left:

Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Sprayhere - I've used this Quick Dry spray for a few years. It claims to dry nails in 60 seconds,  if you touch your nail after this time you will notice that you will leave a finger print mark in the nail due to it not being fully dry underneath. I don't think it's ever dried my nails in 60 seconds but it does work very quickly to dry the top layer of the polish.
How to use: Apply polish as normal, Spray approx 10cm from nails, leave to dry naturally.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover: here - This polish remover claims to remove nail polish in 1 second per nail, slight exaggeration, maybe 5 seconds, but this remover works amazingly, I wish I had found this sooner than a few months ago. No need for cotton wool and no mess!
How to use: Dip one finger at a time into the sponge, twist a few times and remove.

Cutex Nourishing Polish Remover For Weak Nails: here - If I'm not in a rush to remove my nail polish I will use this one because I like to give my nails a break from the Bourjois Nail Polish Remover and I feel it's very strong for my nails, this polish remover is deigned for weak nails which I defiantly have, I feel  my nails are a bit more healthy and strong after using it.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails:  - I bought mine from a local store in Ireland 2 years ago but you can check it out: here - I bought this because my nails have a habit of breaking very easily when I was working in a hostel doing housekeeping so using the chemicals and bleach made my nails really weak. This Nail Hardener works so well, I was very impressed even after the first use my nails felt stronger and healthier looking than before. My bottle is nearly out but I'll defiantly be purchasing a new one!
How I use it: Using on clean nails I apply 1 coat to my nail, around the edges and even under the tips, letting this dry I will then apply a second coat doing the same.

Barry M All In One: here - As it says this polish is an All In One meaning its a Base Coat, Top Coat and Nail Hardener. I use this mainly as a finishing top coat for my nails, I feel that this keeps my polish from chipping and peeling off. I haven't noticed this being effective as a nail hardener so I cannot comment about that.
How I use it: Using this polish as base coat to protect my nails from staining or becoming damaged by the colour polish I may use, I let it to dry, apply my main colour, and then apply 1-2 coats as a top coat.

Seche Vite Fast Dry: here - Being a really impatient person when it comes to my nails drying I have always been all about trying products that will dry my nails fast, just like the Elegant Touch Spray. It most defiantly works but this fast drying polish is slowly becoming my BFF. I feel this bottle is quite pricey but if it works then it's worth it, and it will last me for about 2 years then I don't mind the price.
How to use it: After applying my main polish colour I apply 1-2 coats of this and leave it to dry for approx 30 seconds. Great if you're in a hurry or just really impatient like me!

Sally Hansen Nail Growth: here - As I've said my nails are very weak and break easily. Since I started using this polish 1 1/2 months ago my nails have not broken or cracked. I use my nail growth polish every day along with my nail hardener and my nails have never felt as strong before.
How I use this: Every day on bare nails I apply 2 coats of the nail growth polish and leave to dry naturally.
(Some people may think that having to take off your polish every day to use this nail growth might be a bit of an annoyance but believe  me once you see the results you will think it's worth it)

Do you use any of these I mentioned? What's your opinion of them ?
What products do you use for your nails? Let me know in the comments!

    My Most Used Hair Products

    Aussie Luscious Long Shampoo: here
Aussie 3 minute Miracle Frizz remedy: here
Aussie Anti Frizz & Conditioning Milk Leave In Cream: here
    Aussie Heat Protection: here
Schwarzkopf Got2b Big Volume Hairspray: here
TRESemmé Argan Oil: here I also done a separate post: here
    Batiste Floral Dry Shampoo: here

Considering I have super long hair I tend to use a lot of hair products to try to keep it tamed and as  'normal' looking as possible.
I don't use these products all the time together, but they are the products I use on a regular basis.
I've never dyed my hair and for that reason I do consider my hair to be in quite good condition. I don't straighten my hair too often, and I try to give my hair a break from the hair dryer when I can, and let it dry naturally.
I've never been to a hair salon to get my hair cut before, my mother is a hairdresser and has always done my hair. From when I had the slightest bit of hair up until the time I moved to London in early 2012.
Now that I live in a different country to her I obviously can't get my hair cut as frequent as I use to so that's left me being terrified to go to a hair dressers.. I can't even imagine what I'd ask for if I went in..silly Chloë! My mother gave me her old scissors a couple of years ago because I've always been into chopping into my  hair, even though I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing or how to even hold a hair scissors properly, I use to have a tendency to give myself a full fringe (bangs) and then hate it after 10 minutes, but it didn't stop me from doing it on multiple occasions!
So until I go on my visits home I guess I'm in charge of my hair and how it turns out.
So far so good.. I guess!
Here are some pictures of my hair at the moment :)

I may make this type of post into a weekly thing. I love sharing what my current favourite's are and doing the 'Monthly Favourite's' posts are ones I really enjoy to do. I think I'm going to try and keep these weekly posts more of a 'Random'/'Non Beauty' type and leave the more beauty side to the monthly posts.

Quote: I think it really explains itself. I really like this quote!
Made me smile: My Best Friend moved to Greece on Monday, I met her in Heathrow Airport for her 2 hour layover and I gave her the phone cases I bought for us both.
Picture:  I went out for my flatmates birthday on Thursday. They were playing Charades and I just think its such a happy picture.
Song: I've always loved Paramore but their new song 'Still into you' is pretty awesome!
Nail Polish: Maybelline Colour Show Ocean Blue 661, such a beautiful colour.
Food: I think in the past week I've had pizza & salad about 4 times..slight addiction, maybe?

Got any questions? Let me know in the comments :)

    Small E.L.F Haul

Firstly I apologise for the bad quality of the photos, they captured fine but seemed to loose quality once I uploaded them to this post.

I quite enjoy buying from the ELF website, it's easy, convenient, reasonably priced and there is so much to choose from. There has never been anything I've bought from here that I've been really disappointed with. To be honest I don't have the highest expectation for some products due to the pricing but usually I'm fairly surprised. by the quality.

    What I bought:
    Fan Brush - £3.75 here
*Translucent High Definition Powder - £6.00 here
    Baked Eyeshadow - Enchanted - £3.75 here
*Clear Eyebrow & Lash Mascara here
    Eyebrow Kit - £3.75 here

    * Ive used the High definition powder before which I mentioned in my Empties post here & also the Clear Eyebrow & lash mascara which I have used for a couple years, I've never used the lash mascara because I'm not quite sure why you would use it but I use the eyebrow gel almost every day.

Do you like to buy from ELF? Do you like the quality?
If you have anything you would recommend me to buy then let me know.
